Spider Veins Improvement using Cord Lining Conditioned Media “CALECIM® Professional”

Background
Spider veins or telangiectasias on the legs are very common and have reported to be present in 41% of women over 50. Spider veins are red, blue lines branching out from a central locus in a spider-like appearance. It presents an aesthetic problem and rarely causes health problems. They are the result of damaged small superficial blood vessels in the skin. If left untreated, can lead to worsened appearance and progress to form varicose veins, and become more painful. All traditional treatments have some side effects and some complications such as ulceration, hyperpigmentation, allergic reaction to sclerosant, uncontrolled thrombosis.
Objective
To present a new alternative in management of spider veins and improvement the appearance of skin via Umbilical Cord Lining Derived Stem Cells Conditioned Media.
Case Presentation
A 70-year-old male patient suffering sometimes from burning in both legs, heaviness, pain in legs, blue and purple raised lines, are often about 2- 3 mm in diameter and others red lines with diameter less than 1 mm, in both legs which can be diagnosed as venous and arterial spider veins. The patient has overweight 135 kg and 180 cm in length. Obesity is one of the risk factors for spider veins.
Patient was administering DAFLON for a long time ago. He was feeling temporary improvement in symptoms of leg pain and heaviness. But blue and red bulging lines do not disappear with DAFLON yet which represents a cosmetic issue.
Method
CALECIM® Professional Serum was applied as a topical massage after cleansing the treated area with Alcohol swap then we put a tiny amount of CALECIM® Multi-Action Cream after 10 minutes from serum application and distributed it on the treated area of skin. We repeated this protocol twice daily (morning and evening). One pipette of Professional Serum following small amount of Multi-Action Cream for one week.
We have applied Professional Serum in combination of Multi-action cream on some treated areas (Figure 1) and in contrast on the other side, we applied Professional serum only as (Figure 2).
Patient stopped administering DAFLON before two weeks from sessions. Patient was observed daily during sessions and after one month post sessions.
Results
On day 2, bulging veins became flat and blue color disappeared, patient was satisfied with result and was feeling improvement at short time.
On day 3, spider veins fading increased gradually, discomfort reduced, feeling of heaviness in legs diminished.
On day 5, the patient had full satisfaction and the optimum result we obtained, no red, blue, and purple color and no leg pain. After one month from sessions, no recurrence was observed, no need for DAFLON.
We noticed that the combination of professional serum and multi-action cream (Figure 1) has significant results more than professional serum only (Figure 2).
Conclusion
Spider Veins represents a cosmetic issue for both genders, and it negatively affects self-esteem and the general mood. Also, many patients who have spider veins are subject to varicose veins which have pain and effect on quality of life (QoL). Spider Veins and Varicose Veins are due to weakness in vessels and veins. Stem Cells treatment is a promising treatment for venous insufficiency and varicose veins. CALECIM® Professional as patented stem cells proteins accelerate the growth of blood vessels and veins and restore the proper blood flow. Also, we recommend avoiding risk factors of varicose, spider veins progression such as smoking, overweight, long standing or sitting to help prevent new spider veins from forming and be away any undesired complications.
