Growth factors are naturally occurring proteins secreted by cells such as fibroblasts, keratinocytes and melanocytes. They stimulate growth, healing and regeneration in living tissues. Stem cells are found in both plants and animals. According to the article, Anti-aging properties of Plant Stem Cell Extracts, which appeared in the 2018 issue of the journal Cosmetics, “they differ from other cells due to their unusual properties, proliferation ability (continuous multiplication), and differentiation into specialised cells (depending on the organ in which they are present), and they are also responsible for the growth and repair of damaged tissues.”

What is SOLLAGEN?

One such stem cell skin repair cream that treats skin problems commonly found in diabetics is SOLLAGEN™. How does PTT-6® work?

In a clinical trial conducted among 42 patients in Sengkang General Hospital, Singapore on chronic, hard-to-heal diabetic wounds, SOLLAGEN™ produced a 75% reduction in wound size by week two in 66% of cases, reveals Vacchani.

He further discloses that in another similar trial conducted on 52 patients in Galilee Hospital in Uganda, SOLLAGEN™ produced a 78% reduction in wound size by week three in almost 70% of cases. Further studies supported this initial case series where SOLLAGEN™ was used on several immunocompromised individuals showing that the stemcell skin repair product was equally effective.

SOLLAGEN™ is currently undergoing a multicentric-clinical trial involving 40 patients across two major hospitals — Alty Orthopedic Hospital and Kuala Lumpur General Hospital in Malaysia.

Apart from treating skin problems caused by wounds, stem cell skincare products containing PTT-6® have been shown to be effective in combating the effects of aging. 

Studies have revealed that when applied to aged skin cells, exosome skincare products with PTT-6® resulted in a 56% increase in elastin and 83% increase in hyaluronic acid production, plumping up skin elasticity and firmness.
